Signing in and password reset

How to sign in, reset your password, and resolve common login issues in myBruusgaard

This article covers how to sign in to myBruusgaard, how to reset your password, and how to resolve the most common login issues.

Signing in

Go to my.bruusgaard.no and enter your email address and password. Click Sign in.

If this is your first time signing in, you need to activate your account first. See Setting up your account.

Resetting your password

  1. Go to my.bruusgaard.no and click Forgot password?

  2. Enter your email address.

  3. Check your inbox for an email with a one-time code. The code is valid for 3 hours.

  4. Enter the code and click Verify.

  5. Choose a new password.

The "Forgot password" function only works for accounts that have been fully activated. If you have not yet completed your account setup, use the link in your invitation email instead.

Not receiving the one-time code?

If you do not receive the one-time code:

  • Check your spam or junk folder.

  • Make sure you are entering the correct email address.

  • Ask your IT department to whitelist [email protected] to ensure our emails reach you.

  • Wait for the cooldown timer to expire before requesting a new code.

Troubleshooting

"Forgot password" is not working

This usually means your account has not been fully activated yet. The "Forgot password" function only works for accounts that have completed the registration process. Check your inbox for the original invitation email and use that link to finish setting up your account. If the invitation has expired, contact your Vessel Administrator or Company Administrator to send you a new one.

My old login details are not working

If you previously used an older version of the portal, your previous credentials will no longer work. All users need to activate a new account on the current portal. Check your inbox for an invitation email, or contact your administrator to request a new invitation. See Setting up your account for instructions.

Invitation links can expire. Contact your Vessel Administrator or Company Administrator and ask them to send you a new invitation. Make sure to use the link from the most recent email, not an older one.

I did not receive the invitation email

Check your spam or junk folder. If the email is not there, ask your IT department to whitelist [email protected]. Your administrator can resend the invitation from the People page in the portal. The invitation email also contains a fallback link at the bottom that you can copy and paste directly into your browser if the button does not work.

I see "email doesn't match the invitation"

This means the email address you entered does not match the one your invitation was sent to. You must enter the exact email address the invitation was delivered to. For a full walkthrough, see Why does it say "email doesn't match the invitation"?.

The button in the invitation email does not work

Scroll to the bottom of the invitation email. There is a fallback link that you can copy and paste directly into your browser.

A crew member's account is activated but they cannot log in

If the account has already been activated (the user does not show as "Invitation pending" on the People page), the user does not need a new invitation. Instead, they should use Forgot password on the sign-in page at my.bruusgaard.no to reset their password. A one-time code will be sent to their email.

A common sign that the account is already activated is when an administrator tries to resend or create a new invitation and gets an "email already in use" error. This means the account exists and is active, the user simply needs to reset their password.

I get "email already in use" when trying to invite someone

This means the email is already registered in the portal, either on an activated account or on a pending invitation. To resolve it:

  • Check the People page for the vessel. If the user appears with the status "Invitation pending," the invitation has already been sent. Use the three-dot menu next to their name to resend it, or cancel and send a new one.

  • If the user appears as "Active," the account is already activated and they do not need a new invitation. Ask them to go to my.bruusgaard.no and use Forgot password to regain access.

  • If the user is not on the People page, the email may belong to an account on a different vessel or company. Contact us through the chat for assistance.
